Tiger Woods Opens Up About "Pain in My Soul"

Tiger Woods is reeling - on and off the golf course.
Nearly a year after the Thanksgiving car crash that exposed his affair with Rachel Uchitel and later countless others, the golfer is opening up to Newsweek.
"Last November, everything I thought I knew about myself changed abruptly, and what others perceived about me shifted, too," Woods writes in an essay.
Number One Golfer
For Tiger Woods (and THG), life changed forever that night.
Last Thanksgiving night, the golfer drove his Escalade into a fire hydrant outside the home he shared with wife Elin Nordegren and their two young children.
Later, we learned he and Elin were arguing over his affair with Uchitel. It was just the beginning of one of the biggest sex scandals in history unraveling.
Woods writes: "I had been conducting my personal life in an artificial way, detached from values my upbringing had taught, and I should have embraced."
"The physical pain from that car accident has long healed. But the pain in my soul is more complex and unsettling; it has been far more difficult to ease - and to understand. But this much is obvious now: my life was out of balance."
"My priorities were out of order. I made terrible choices and repeated mistakes. I hurt the people whom I loved the most. And even beyond accepting the consequences and responsibility, there is the ongoing struggle to learn from my failings."
He and Elin finalized their divorce this August.
Expressing new appreciation for fatherhood and life in general, he adds: "Slowly, I'm regaining the balance that I'd lost. My healing process is far from complete."
"I am beginning to appreciate things I overlooked before. Some victories can mean smiles, not trophies, and that life's most ordinary events can bring joy. Giving my son, Charlie, a bath, for example, beats chipping another bucket of balls."
"Making mac and cheese for him and his sister, Sam, is better than any restaurant. Sharing a laugh watching cartoons or reading a book beats channel-surfing alone. Some nights, it's just me and the kids, an experience that's both trying and rewarding. Probably like the experience a lot of families have every evening around the world."
It's hard to say from our perspective, but here's hoping Tiger truly is humbled by all he's been through, becomes a better person for it, and comes back better than ever. He didn't win a tournament in 2010. We wouldn't bet against him next year.

Amber Portwood: Charged With Felony Battery!

Looks like Amber Portwood's attacks on Gary Shirley will have consequences.
The Teen Mom star has been charged with two felony counts and one misdemeanor for domestic violence and battery today. Under Indiana law, domestic abuse is a felony if a child is present for the abuse, as baby Leah was in both cases.
One of the charges is based on footage never aired by MTV. The other:
Amber Slaps Gary
SLAPPED: Gary Shirley knows how that feels. Now Amber Portwood's been hit as well - with criminal charges stemming from the couple's recent squabbles.
The incidents related to the charges happened June 14, July 18 and August 14 of this year. Documents say Amber choked, slapped, punched and kicked Gary.
Detective Mitch Carroll says that if convicted, Amber Portwood faces up to three years in jail and fines of up to $10,000. Still, the troubled star is defiant.
“I didn’t hit Gary in front of Leah so there's no felony,” she told Hollywood Life. “There’s nothing against me. They can’t charge if they don’t have proof.”
We'll see about that, since she lost baby Leah as a result ...

Tony Parker on Erin Barry "Affair": Sexting Only!

Two new revelations in the week's top celebrity scandal:
  1. The Eva Longoria-Tony Parker divorce was in the works at least a week before Eva filed, contrary to the story some people in her camp have spread.
  2. Tony denies having sex with Erin Barry.

SEXTING: A portmanteau of sex and texting, first popularized circa 2005; The act of exchanging sexually explicit messages or photos between mobile phones.
Tony admits a "sexting relationship" with Erin, the estranged wife of his former Spurs teammate Brent Barry, but nothing more, and says even that ended months ago.
Parker sources insist, "They never had a physical relationship."
As for Eva's "revenge filing" that supposedly blindsided Tony, new reports suggest that's not true, and that he was aware she would file the papers in Los Angeles.
As for her motivation in doing so, that's still up for debate.
Not only was the Eva Longoria-Tony Parker divorce a foregone conclusion, but it was timed to coincide with the Us Weekly cover story about it. Just bizarre.
As for why Tony and Eva are telling different stories about the divorce, a close friend of Tony's puts it simply: "She was into the whole PR thing. He wasn't."
Eva's people say Tony's story is untrue ... with one source saying they "were still talking about working out the marriage up until the morning she filed."
The long and short of it: Who was planning what and when depend on who you ask, as does whether Tony put it to Erin Barry. But it's definitely over.

Co-Star on Demi Lovato: She's Doing Well

Sterling Knight stars opposite Demi Lovato on Sonny With a Chance and has spoken with the troubled actress since she entered rehab a few weeks ago. How is Demi doing? Well.
"She's in good spirits," Knight told E! News last night. "I didn't want to bother her too much because I want her to get her rest. I know she's been overworked for a long time. I'm hoping she stays strong and gets through it."

While Lovato has reportedly expressed a desire to be home by Thanksgiving, her rep recently said this was unlikely. Her health must come before all else.
As for Demi's decision to get help now for issues initially described as both "physical and mental," Knight applauds his friend for taking such a necessary, mature step.
"You'd rather nip it in the bud sooner than later," he said. "I know she's been real busy - almost entirely too busy for any human being, let along a 17-year-old girl. It's nice that she's handling her stuff."
We agree. In Lovato's absence, Sonny with a Chance will retool a bit and air its third season as scheduled.
