“Top Gun 2″ — Sequel To Tom Cruise’s 1986 Hit “Top Gun” On The Horizon

Top Gun 2 is preparing for take-off. Pete “Maverick” Mitchell, aka Tom Cruise, has agreed to reprise his role of the sexually conflicted, karaoke-loving flyboy in the long-delayed sequel to the 1986 flight-themed romantic drama Top Gun.

Nearly 25 years after Tom Cruise played iconic hero “Maverick” in the action film, Paramount Pictures has commenced discussions to revive the 80′s cult classic, New York Magazine said Wednesday. Viacom execs are negotiating with the film’s original producer Jerry Bruckheimer and director Tony Scott to work on Top Gun 2.
Don’t forget to page the supporting stars of the original cast who played memorable roles like Goose, Iceman, and Charlie. They’re also being courted to reportedly take part in the project.
Cruise’s starring role in the original will be much smaller in the sequel, according to industry experts. While the former heartthrob was a protagonist in the first Top Gun, Mr. Katie Holmes will likely join the new cast as a flight instructor.

Supermodel Kate Moss got married…back in August!

The waify catwalker tied the knot with her boyfriend Jamie Hince in a secret Italian ceremony two months ago, British tabloid The Mirror said this week.
Kate and Jamie have been dating on and off since 2007.
The supermodel is believed to have wed Hince in an intimate service at a small church on the island of Sicily Aug. 7, tipsters say. Only her closest friends and relatives were in attendance. Kate, 36, wore a sheer white dress and went barefoot, while her eight-year-old daughter Lila-Grace was a ring bearer, the tabloid claims.
“Kate’s had a fairly turbulent love life. But she’s a romantic at heart. The plans were kept very quiet as Kate wanted the day to be low-key and purely a celebration of their love. She’s never been one for convention or tradition, but Jamie’s been there for her through thick and thin, and she simply felt the time was right,” whispers a snoop close to the supermodel, who has waged war against a cocaine scandal and rocker ex Pete Doherty over the course of her 20 year career.
“They planned the day for weeks and were so excited. Kate didn’t want a stuffy, formal do, but something spiritual. Minutes after tying the knot, the giggling newlyweds were outside the church, dancing under trees. It was an incredibly happy day.”
The marriage is the first for Moss, who also previously dated actor Johnny Depp.

Prince “Welcome 2 America” Tour Kicks Off In December

Purple Rain meets Red December as music icon prepares to head out on a new concert just in time for the holidays!

Prince has unveiled plans for “a series of events” he’s dubbed “The Welcome 2 America Tour.” The “Do Me Baby” crooner is expected to perform with his legendary band, The New Power Generation, and serve as Master of Ceremonies.
“We’re here today in New York to announce a series of events that will begin on a purple day in December in the year 2010,” Prince said during a press conference held at Harlem’s famed Apollo Theater Thursday.
The shows will feature a full roster of funk, R&B and jazz artists, including Maceo Parker, Janelle Monae, Mint Condition, Esperanza Spalding, Lalah Hathaway, Sheila E, Cassandra Wilson, and Graham Central Station.
“Welcome 2 America’s best described as ‘what we’ve all been waiting for.’ I will serve as master of ceremonies for multiple nights of entertainment that will feature some of the best artists this country has to offer,” the pint-sized pop legend told potential concertgoers.
“Bring friends, bring your children, and bring foot spray because it’s gonna be funky,” Prince promised with a devilish grin.
An accomplished guitarist, Prince plans to auction off a gold-plated guitar, which was displayed adjacent to the singer during today’s presser. All proceeds from the sale of the instrument will benefit the Harlem Children Zone, a non-profit organization featured prominently in the education reform documentary Waiting for Superman.
